中条あやみ　今の自分が限界じゃない、だからこれからも挑戦し続ける

■プロフィール

1997年2月4日生まれ。大阪府出身。 2011年に「ミスセブンティーン2011」グランプリを受賞し、 雑誌「Seventeen」の専属モデルとして活躍後、さまざまな映画、 ドラマに出演。 2018年には、映画「チア☆ダン〜女子高生がチアダンスで 全米制覇しちゃったホントの話〜」で第41回日本アカデミー賞新人賞を受賞。 現在ドラマ「君と世界が終わる日に」(2021年1月17日より放送)に出演中。 1月よりテレビ「ぐるぐるナインティナイン」「グルメチキンレース ゴチになります!」のレ ギュラー出演も決まる傍ら、雑誌「CanCam」の専属モデルなど、幅広く活躍中。

14歳で芸能界デビューした後、モデル・女優として活躍し、今年は地上波GP帯初となるゾンビアクションドラマに出演する中条あやみさん。なぜこの業界に足を踏み入れたのか、仕事の魅力は何なのか、この作品にはどのような思いで挑んだのか、自らの女優としての思いを伺った。

■限界も１００点満点もない世界、だから常に追求する

　最初は、14歳の時に家族で行ったグアム旅行でモデルとしてスカウトされたことがきっかけでした。２０１１年にファッション雑誌「Seventeen」のオーディションに応募して、専属モデルとしてこの業界に入りました。女優業は、当時Seventeenのモデルの中に武井咲さんや広瀬すずさん、広瀬アリスさんがいて、既に女優として活躍されている方が周りにたくさんいたことに刺激を受け、足を踏み入れました。
　今続けることができているのはある飲料のＣＭがあったからです。このオーディションを受けてダメだったら、今後のお仕事も考え直そうと思っていました。でも採用していただき、初めて自分を必要としてくれていることを実感でき、そこから仕事の幅が広がりました。
　ＣＭに出演していたとき、女優というお仕事はすごく体力と忍耐力が必要なんだと感じました。季節とは関係なく撮影があったり、飛んだり走ったりと、やってみて初めて苦労がわかりました。今でも新しい作品や現場に入るときはすごく緊張しますし、失敗することも何回もあります。しかし、絶対に限界も１００点満点もないお仕事だと思っています。どうしたらより上手になるか、より楽しくできるか、常に追求することができます。そこがこの仕事の魅力であり、やりがいだと思います。女優というお仕事は特殊で、自分とは違う人になることで、何回も現実の自分とは別の人生を味わうことが出来るのも、大きな魅力だと思います。

■今回のドラマ出演は貴重な体験でした

　今回のドラマは地上波GP帯初のゾンビアクションドラマです。正直、最初に聞いたときは今までのドラマにはない強烈な内容であり、これはキャストが一体となって頑張らないと、と気が引き締まりました。
　演じる上で特に難しかったのは、サバイバルな環境の中で、周りには大量のゾンビがいる極限状態を演じなくてはいけなくて、普段の生活からはかけ離れており、メンタル的にも役に入り込むことがとても難しかったです。
　この作品に入る前にゾンビ映画も多く見て、自分でもあれこれと想像もしてみたのですが、実際はどのぐらいお風呂に入ってないのかとか、最後のご飯は何にするんだろうとか、いろいろと考えさせられることが多く貴重な経験でした。でももし私がその世界におかれてしまったら、ドラマのように長く生き延びずに早々にゾンビにやられてしまうと思います。
　このドラマの見所は、もちろんゾンビアクションドラマですので、ゾンビが襲って来るというスリルもあるのですが、登場人物一人一人が今後この世界でどのようになってしまうのかなど、ミステリー要素にもぜひ注目していただきたいです。極限状態におかれた人間がどのような行動をするのか、本当に恐ろしいのはゾンビではなく人間ではないのかなど、他のゾンビ映画とは一味違ったすごく刺激的な作品になっています。
　また、竹内涼真さん演じる間宮響（まみや　ひびき）と私が演じる小笠原来美（おがさわら　くるみ）が今までの平穏で幸せな生活から一転、極限状態の中で会えそうで会えないという、もどかしいラブストーリーも見所です。

■悔いのないように、日々挑戦して欲しいです

　今はコロナによってできることが制限されている状況ですが、自分に合っていないと感じることがあったり、自分に適していない環境であるならば、それらを探すために海外でもなんでも挑戦するべきだと思います。世界はとても広くて、自分の限界を決めつけずにチャレンジしてください。私も今までモデルのお仕事で海外の方とご一緒させていただくことはあったのですが、女優のお仕事ではありませんでした。でも、海外に好きな監督もいるのでぜひご一緒にお仕事ができるよう、英語にも今まで以上にチャレンジしていこうと思っています。
　それとこのドラマのような状況もまさにそうなのですが、いつ自分がどうなるかなどわかりません。だからこそ一日一日を後悔しないように生きて欲しいと思います。学生という時間は今しかありません。二度と帰ってくる時間ではないからこそ、悔いのないよう精一杯楽しんでください。

■Profile:

Born 4 February 1997, in Osaka. She has appeared in various films and dramas after winning the Miss Seventeen 2011 Grand Prix 2011 and becoming an exclusive model for Seventeen magazine. In 2018, she won the 41st JBest New Actor award in the Japan Academy Prize for her role in the film ‘Let’s Go Jets.’ She is currently appearing in the drama ‘Love You as the World Ends’ (broadcast from 17 January 2021). From January, she is also set to appear as a regular on the TV series Guru Guru Nainti Nain’ and’ Gurume Chicken Race Goti Ni Narimasu!’. She is also an exclusive model for the magazine CanCam. 

After debuting in the entertainment industry at 14, Ayami Nakajo has been a model and actress and will appear in the first zombie action drama in terrestrial prime time this year. We interviewed her about why she got into the industry, what attracted her to the job, how she felt about this film and her thoughts as an actress. 

A world where there are no limits and no perfect score of 100, so I always pursue it 

I was first scouted as a model on a family trip to Guam when I was 14. 

In 2011, I auditioned for Seventeen’s fashion magazine and entered the industry as an exclusive model. I stepped into this industry as an actress because I was inspired by the many people around me already working as actresses, such as Emi Takei, Suzu Hirose, and Alice Hirose, among Seventeen’s models at the time. 

 I can continue now because of a CM for a drink. If I couldn’t pass this audition, I thought I would reconsider my future work. But I was hired and felt that I was needed for the first time, and my work expanded from there. 

 When I was in the CM, I realized that being an actress requires a lot of stamina and patience. I could understand the difficulties of the job only after I had done it, such as having to film in any season, flying, running, and so on. Even now, I still get very nervous when I start a new film or scene, and there are many times when I fail. However, I believe this is a job with absolutely no limits and no perfect score of 100. You can always pursue how to do it better or have more fun. I think that’s what makes this job so attractive and rewarding. Acting is a special job, and the main attraction is that by becoming someone different from yourself, you can experience a different life from your real life many times. 

■This drama appearance was a valuable experience. 

 This drama is the first zombie action drama in the terrestrial prime time. To be honest, when I first heard about the drama, I felt that it had strong content that had never been seen before, and the cast had to work as one to make it work. 

 What was particularly difficult about playing the role was that I had to play an extreme situation in a survival environment with many zombies around me, which is very different from my normal life, and it was tough to get into the role mentally. 

 Before I started this film, I watched many zombie movies and tried to imagine things myself. Still, it was a valuable experience because it made me think a lot about things like how long I actually didn’t take a bath or what I would have for my last meal. However, if I were placed in that world, I don’t think I would survive as long as in the drama and would be killed by the zombies quickly. 

 The highlight of this drama is, of course, the thrill of the zombie attack, as it is a zombie action drama, but I would also like the audience to pay attention to the mystery elements, such as what will happen to each of the characters in the future in this world. It’s a fascinating film that is different from other zombie films, as it shows how people behave under extreme conditions, whether it’s not zombies but people who are really terrifying. 

 Also, the love story between Hibiki Mamiya, played by Ryoma Takeuchi, and Kurumi Ogasawara, who I play, is also a highlight, as their peaceful and happy lives have changed completely. They can’t seem to see each other under extreme conditions, which is frustrating. 

■ I want you to challenge yourself every day without regrets. 

 We are in a situation now where we are limited in what we can do because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but if there are things that you feel you don’t fit into or if the environment is not suitable for you, you should try anything, like going abroad to look for those things. The world is vast, and you should challenge yourself without setting your limits. I have had the opportunity to work with people from abroad in modeling jobs rather than in acting jobs. However, there are directors abroad that I like, so I will challenge my English even more than before to work with them. 

 Also, situations like this drama are exactly the same, but you never know when it will happen to you. That is why I want you to live each day without regret. The time you have as a student is only now. It is a time that will never come back, so please enjoy it as much as you can without regrets.
